Myspace was the start of the popular social media platforms. It would set the stage for Facebook to come along. Facebook took the customizable platform and the ability to connect with people but managed to get it on a broader scale. Facebook made it easier to share things, such as pictures, by having a tagging feature. This makes things more spreadable. Myspace also had the start of spreadability with being able to hook music up to one's account. The ability of content to spread on these sites is how they either thrive or fail.
